Connections Teaching Toolkit

The Steel Connections Toolkit includes a variety of interactive products to help teach about steel connections, including a comprehensive teaching guide, 3D AutoCAD drawings of the teaching steel sculpture, and MathCAD routines for use in conjunction with the Guide. The "Teaching Guide on Steel Connections," which was developed by Perry Green of the University of Florida as an accompaniment to the steel teaching sculptures, provides a visual explanation of the basic design and detailing considerations of steel connections. The Toolkit is available at no charge and distribution, copying, extraction and expansion of this information is permitted for teaching purposes.

Covered in this article are typical stairs in American and Canadian industrial and commercial buildings, where grating and concrete-filled pans are used. This article does not cover ornamental or circular stairs.
